2024 Support
While our volunteers focus on getting the huge diesel motor running (the giant batteries needed for starting arrived in November 2023), we are going to out-source work on the truck assemblies (traction motors and brakes) and the generator.
This will require $50K, a sum we are about 20% of the way to reaching. We hope to make our goal by the end of March.

Restoring the last intact diesel locomotive from the Lehigh & New England Railroad is a labor of love. It takes a passion for history and a large group of supporters to tackle the job of turning 115 tons of inoperable steel back into the locomotive it was in 1948 when it rolled out of the American Locomotive Works.
